Get to know the place

The first-hand kayaking account describes caves and arches south of Blue Lagoon, followed by Lighthouse Point and the tower-and-battery coast. This segment excludes a Gozo crossing and does not pass through Blue Lagoon’s swimming zone. Arrange access and the route with a qualified local guide; no cave entry is implied.

What to see

  • Southern cave-and-arch coast
  • Lantern Point scenery
  • Santa Marija Tower and battery coast

Features and marine-life sightings depend on the agreed route and conditions.

Kayak route idea

  1. Guide-arranged Crystal Lagoon start area
  2. Lantern / Lighthouse Point coast
  3. Southern tower-and-battery coast

An editorial segment of a first-hand Comino circumnavigation account. Arrange a guide, launch or boat transfer and return separately. The line begins at a coastal reference point, not a beach launch. Cave access, channel traffic and current restrictions determine the actual route.

Route lines and starting points in the explorer are editorial illustrations, not surveyed tracks.

THE WAY IN

Getting there & access

Arrange a guide and water transfer

The starting marker is at Crystal Lagoon’s coastal area, not a public kayak launch. Ask the guide to confirm the embarkation harbour, transfer or permitted launch, collection point and return. This is a custom coastal segment rather than a scheduled tour.

Plan for the day you go

Check the current regional wind and sea outlook, then agree the entry, exit, route and required experience with a local operator. Regional forecasts do not measure cave surge, currents, visibility, water quality or closures.

Cave and overhead access requires an on-site assessment and appropriate training and equipment.
